Dual Diagnosis Counseling
"Dual Diagnosis" means that an individual has a substance use issue and another mental health matter ranging from anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Those with a dual diagnosis have greater obstacles to overcome. Dual diagnoses impact and exacerbate each other significantly. It is vital to one's Recovery to develop insight about how the two disorders interact, to understand what triggers symptoms and cravings and how to adapt and hone new coping strategies and skills.
Recovery is a journey of healing and finding happiness, joy, and freedom in life from that which binds us. This is possible through acceptance, knowledge, perseverance, and faith. Please come. Let's talk and see what we can do…
Substance Use Counseling
Some believe substance abuse is a disease; some do not. There are many ways to Recovery and there is no wrong way. They include 12 Step Programs (AA, NA, CA, etc), spirituality/religion, psychotherapy, medication, and solutions-focused skills. They all, however, have a common denominator – and that is change. If nothing changes: Nothing changes. Everyone has unique needs and require determining the best blend of Recovery planning.
Through a combination of psychotherapy (interpretative practice), counseling (skills oriented), and a therapeutic alliance we shall address these issues together.
